Webinars/Scoping Meetings
V-KEMS will provide the infrastructure to host appropriate webinars/scoping meetings online. These could include one or several talks, with options to participate in parallel sessions via virtual breakout rooms.
ICMS is supporting the mathematical sciences community in the UK by helping to organise and run online seminars (both one-off events and seminar series). They are able to help host the webinar, advertise the event, invite participants and support follow up activity.
ICMS and the Newton Gateway are working with the Innovate UK KTN to host and develop a number of other webinars and virtual study groups and more information about these are on the news section and in the calendar.
Scoping Meetings:
Post-COVID Economic Recovery Scoping - 9th June 2021, September 2021 & February 2022.
The goal of these meetings is to consider both the positive and negative aspects of the impact of COVID and look at opportunities where mathematical modelling can help address how the future of work and travel are meshed into the fabric of society. Each meeting will focus on a particular economic sector hit by the pandemic.
The output of the above three meetings will feed into a “Post-COVID economic recovery” three day Virtual Study Group in 2022, where problems identified in these workshops will be worked on.
Webinars:
Discussion Forum on Agri-food Logistic Threats and Research Opportunities. Paper subsequently published.
Virtual Seminar Series - Scientific Understanding and Modelling of the Decontamination of COVID 19 Infected Spaces and Surfaces.
Guiding Principles for Unlocking the Workforce- What Can Mathematics Tell Us?
Test Trace and Isolate for epidemic control: lessons learnt from COVID-19 in the UK and preparing for future pandemics. Working paper subsequently published.
ARIA and the UK Mathematical Sciences: Engaging mathematical sciences with grand challenges and government policy hosted by ICMS.
ARIA and the UK Mathematical Sciences: Panel Discussion with Q&A - “Experiences of DARPA-esque programmes" hosted by ICMS.
